Welcome

Hello, my name is Dannielle. I am an avid gardener and  a houseplant enthusiast living in Prescott, ON. I also have a passion for frugal and sustainable living. This has sparked a new creative path for me through sewing and creating  washable and reusable products to replace disposables in our everyday lives.

Who I am…

Hello, my name is Dannielle. I am a wife and mother of four. We live in a busy society and It’s not always easy to do away with the convenience of disposables. I want to take some of these disposable items and create an equivalent that is reusable/washable but keeps that convenience factor. I have been planting/planning/growing vegetable gardens for most of my adult life. I love working with my hands, planning each year what to grow. Companion planting, natives, pollinators, regenerative soil practices are my focus the last two seasons. Growing, building, and working outside each year brings new experience and knowledge, and each year I take on more and dive into newer plants or methods of growing.

I also love to be surrounded by plants while indoors and want to share that with others by providing various types of houseplants at reasonable prices

I love what I do and I hope I can inspire and help others with the same or similar mindset.

Feel free to reach out to me. I love to bounce ideas off like-minded people.

Let's build a community based on love, respect, feeling and doing better to the environment and  people around us.

What I do…

Gardening & Plants

Native plants have become a new passion that I want to share with my family, friends and all those who are willing to take interest. With increasing knowledge of the harm they cause, eradicating known invasives and replacing with natives is not only beneficial to our own small home gardens, but to our entire region and even province. Pollinators such as bugs, bees, birds, and every step of their life cycle and food chain will thank you.

Every year I grow food for myself, my family, and my community. Every year my garden is bigger. Every year I add new things. Every year is different. Incorporating companion planting and adding native pollinator-friendly flowers has really upped my game.

And then there is the love of surrounding yourself with plants inside your home. Being a controlled environment means you can get a little wild and exotic. Your imagination (and free space in your home) are your limit here!

Upcycled and Repurposed

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Three words we've all had ingrained in us since we were small children. Now more than ever it is time to take this seriously and one step further.

Step 1 - Reduce the amount we consume

Step 2 - Reuse everything until it is no longer functional

Step 3 - When is is no longer reusable, we Recycle

Step 4 - Upcycling is the process of transforming materials destined to be destroyed into new products of higher value and environmental purpose. Reusing waste without destroying it takes far less energy than breaking it down to be remade into something new.

Taking old things or things heading for the landfill and making them into something new. Mostly this has been taking old or used fabric and creating something new to replace the everyday-use disposables in our lives for sustainable , reusable, washable items.
